Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Brought to you by directing duo Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (I Love You, Phillip Morris), "Crazy, Stupid, Love." is a rich and highly enjoyable summer romance flick that delivers over expectations.

Unsurprisingly freshly cuckolded by his high school sweetheart and wife of 25 years (Julianne Moore), boring middle-aged dude Steve Carell struggles to cope his new single life with the help of ladykiller and romance expert, Jacob (Ryan Gosling). First up? Sexy teacher Kate (Marisa Tomei). Next up, he even gets tangled in a love triangle involving a teenage babysitter Jessica (Analeigh Tipton) and his 13-year-old son, Robbie (Jonah Bobo). Jacon himself pursues hot female Hannah (Emma Stone), perhaps feeling challenged that his usual tricks are not working.

"Crazy, Stupid, Love." seems to follow the narrative concept of "Love, Actually" except that it remains with each couple for a far longer time than the latter. After focusing so long on one couple, the sudden switch to the other almost caught me unaware.

But while the film has a pretty choppy flow, it is a funny, down-to-earth rom-com that is sure to win the hearts of romantics. There's something for everyone: Middle-aged couple Cal and Emily, past the age of maintaining marriage with love and passion alone; Jacob and Hannah, a sweet realisation of love of sorts for the young adults; and a somewhat random throw-in of Jessica and Robbie for the teenagers and younger.
