Drive Angry

Fasten your seatbelts for a crazy ride in this tale of revenge, starring Nicholas Cage, hot sexy sidekick Amber Heard, much violence, action and, of course, 3D effects to complete the package.

John Milton (Nicholas Cage), a fresh escape from hell, saves waitress Piper (Amber Heard), from her abusive boyfriend and sets out on a road trip to Louisiana with her. As if that is not bewildering enough, here comes the eye-rolling part of the plot: he is to locate cult leader Jonah King (Billy Burke) and save his baby granddaughter from becoming a sacrifice during the next full moon. On their trail is a mysterious character, known only as The Accountant (William Fitchner).

Nicholas Cage, still donning the terrible haircut from his last movie, Season of the Witch, gives an acceptable though unimpressive performance and Amber Heard plays a convincing acton sidekick in skimpy shorts though she is to be brutally clobbered on screen later. But it is William Fitchner's intriguing performance saves the film – also so much more convincing and interesting than Cage's own character.

In conclusion, Drive Angry is a complete exploitation film that has 3D effects, sex and, of course, the action, but not one that you should feel about missing in the theatre. Save this as mindless fun on a boring day at home.
