Otherwise known as Mission: Impossible 4, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol is a welcomed fourth installment of the Mission: Impossible series with both brain and brawn.
Things are not going as smoothly as before for super spy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) who has lost his backing. Even the man who has one of the most exciting jobs in the world seems to suffer from a case of work blues. Nonetheless, there are still villains to stop. In this case, it is Russian Kurt Hendricks who is out to end the world with nuclear weapons and satellites.
While the plot remains pretty simple and even cliched, I love it that there is development of the characters from the last installment. Aside from the main plot of Cruise's not-so-smooth career, his techie sidekick Benji has finally passed the spy test and gets on field while his partners Patton and Renner have some emotional trouble of their own.
The action is sleek, smooth and superb – one of the very best of the year and definitely has to be watched in the theatre for maximum effect. Just imagine Cruise scaling the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, without much safety precautions is enough to set your heart racing and your palms sweating for the actor who did not use any stuntman for this.
Top great action and script flow up with Cruise's star power, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol promises to be an awesome end for the year.
