Foodies attuned to the finer things in life are in for a treat from 25 June to 1 July 2018 as one of Thailand's most celebrated chefs, Hervé Frerard, will be helming the stoves of Ginett Restaurant & Wine Bar, with a specially concocted and exquisite French menu calibrated to seduce even the most discerning of palates.
Ginett Restaurant & Wine Bar is a glamorous oasis of gastronomical delights and titillating drinks set in Singapore's Arts District at 200 Middle Road. Ginett's luxe interior is illuminated with warm yellow lights, chic black furniture and plush seating, but the nuances of industrial furnishing integrated through its hanging Edison bulbs, metal lamps and exposed ceiling evokes a more casual ambiance, so that diners can feel at ease to kick back and relax while in the midst of glamour.
Ginett's menu comprises of hearty European favorites, superb French wines from $6 a glass all day long, quick and easy set lunches and late weekend brunches. The wide selection of prices and items makes a trip to Ginett a versatile and fully customizable pleasurable experience for all kinds of diners. But perhaps, the most memorable of all dining experiences at Ginett will be scheduled to go down from 25 June to 1 July 2018 as celebrity Chef Hervé Frerard will take center stage in Ginett's kitchen and will be treating diners to an exclusive menu featuring some of his beloved signature dishes.
Chef Hervé Frerard is revered in Thailand, having published his own cookbook Hervhé, and having established the Thailand arm of esteemed culinary group Disciples Escofffier. The Thailand-based chef earned his high-brow status as “Bangkok's Favorite French Chef”, as being an advisor to the Royal Project Foundation, he frequently cooks for the Thai Royal Family. The celebrity chef has recently soared over hurdles as he fed Bangkok's fastidious foodie scene and some of the world's harshest good critics to emerge victorious at his Bangkok restaurant, Aldo's.
Chef Hervé Frerard is known for his highly seasonal menus. Deriving inspiration from his French roots, Chef Hervé Frerard will be bringing the crème de la crème of French cuisine to Ginett for one week only. The French chef stays true to traditional French cuisine that is pure and simple – counting on the highest quality produce and ingredients, but also adding an artistic flair to create a gastronomical masterpiece.
Frerard’s guest chef menu will be available for dinner with 9 delectable options. Diners have the luxury of choosing between the melt-in-the-mouth Beef Oxtail, gently simmered in a black radish bouillon and topped with a flaky feuilleté (puff pastry), or the ludicrously tender, buttery and subtly sweet Milk-Fed Fillet of Veal, served with green pea puree and fresh mint. Feast on with the Slow Cooked Organic Egg that bursts in molten gooey goodness with smoked Agris potato and herring caviar, or the fruity-sweet Tomato Cœur de Bœuf (a type of tomato named “beef heart tomato” due to its uncanny appearance to a cow's heart) complemented with shrimp, tangy yuzu cream, red onion pickles and chives.
Unveiling the stars of the show, the mains feature some of the most quintessential French classics like the Crispy Organic Chicken Supreme served with raised endives, baked ratte potato, and a creamy sauce poulette; the Wild Cod Fish that is simply poached and served in a root vegetable bouillon with Jerusalem artichoke and finished with a touch of chorizo aioli; and the Roasted Duck Breast that is cooked in malt whiskey and complemented by grilled carrots and a spicy ginger and onion compote. To end the culinary journey to France on a sweet note, the Rum Baba (a petite cake drenched in an alcoholic sweet syrup and filled with cream) will please any sweet-tooths, alongside a refreshingly chilled Soup of Garriguette and Charentais Melon (strawberry and cantaloupe).
