With the launch of Singapore fashion label Mae Pang's pre-Spring 2013 collection, it sure looks like we have a homebred designer to watch out for.
An independent concept label with international influences from London's Dover Street Market and Colette in Paris, fashion designer Singaporean Pang Ai Mei works with established designers, both local and international, of various disciplines. Her most recent collection features clean feminine cuts with a boyish touch – expect structured designs in muted colours such as black, grey, and dark blue though some sported pretty bright aqua hues as well.
Though a fairly new designer, she lacks no credentials of her own. Ai Mei was one of the six designers selected to collaborate with WOODS & WOODS. She was also the Singapore representative at the 2009 Raffles City Fashion Festival.
Practical fashionistas, who will love Ai Mei's works, may find pieces Mae Pang at PARCO next NEXT, 9A Curious Teepee, 9ActuallyActually or 9Hide & Seek... as well as selected outlets in Hong Kong! Related links: Mae Pang website
