Chinese New Year, it is the time of the year again when we feast in anticipation of a great year ahead and enjoy yummy goodies like bak kwa and pineapple tarts. But before that, we also got to go through spring cleaning. One man's trash may be another man's treasure, so why not start the new year on a kind note by taking the effort to drop off your preloved items where the less fortunate may find good use for?
Save the earth and bring down these items here:
1. Salvation Army www.salvationarmy.org/singapore Accepted items:
Any items in good condition such as clothes, bags, shoes, books, toys and household items. Beneficiary:

The Salvation Army is where it is most convenient to drop off preloved items. Besides the several donation-in-kind drop-off booth locations spread across Singapore, one could could contact the donor coordinator for donation of bulky items too. 2. Singapore Red Cross Society www.redcross.org.sg Accepted items:
Any items in good condition. Beneficiary:
A variety including blood donations, first aid awareness, community services, disaster relief, as well as international response. How:
Bring down the items to the Red Cross Training Campsite on Fridays (except Public Holidays) between 10.30am to 3pm, or to the Red Cross House on weekdays (except Public Holidays) from 9am to 6pm. 3. Pass It Onwww.passiton.org.sg
Unused household items and furniture in working condition.
Donated items are made available to all Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs). Revenue from sales of items that are unable to find a match at the VWOs will go towards funding the operation and transportation costs of the site co-created by the Central Singapore Community Development Council and The Helping Hand.
