The world's first ArtScience museum, uniquely designed in an iconic lotus-inspired shape or likened to an open palm, is now open to public at the Marina Bay Sands!
Home to 21 gallery spaces that totals to 50,000 square feet of exhibition space, the museum aims to deliver an impressive array of exhibits from art and science, media and technology, to design and architecture.
The showpiece exhibition for the museum's launch would be ArtScience: A Journey Through Creativity. This representative exhibition will feature an assemble of collections that reflects cutting-edge technology and design as well as culture. It also seeks to encourage an open dialogue of the unique relationship between art and science.
There are a total of three galleries: Curiosity, Inspiration and Expression. The first gallery, Curiosity, introduces visitors to a unique space by an ascending "floating" staircase and quizzes them with questions artistic and scientific personalities have faced.
The second gallery, Inspiration, is an interactive exhibition that showcases six suspended artifacts that represents famous inventions that combine both art and science. This includes Leonardo da Vinci's Flying Machine, a Kongming lantern and an anicent Chinese scroll.
Finally, the third gallery and the most dynamic one would be Expression, a multimedia gallery that capitalises on the effect that lighting, sound and moving images have on visitors to lead them through journeys that great artists and scientists have gone through.
Tickets are at SGD27 for adults, SGD24 for senior citizens, and SGD16 for kids two to twelve years. There's also a school group price at SGD9 and group sales price at SGD21.50 with a minimum purchase of 25 tickets.
