Kuo Pao Kun Festival 2012

Arguably one of Singapore's greatest arts pioneers as well as contributors, Kuo Pao Kun is a playwright and theatre director who left us with several brilliant works including Lao Jiu.

As the ninth born and the only son of the family, Lao Jiu us given the rare opportunity of a prestigious scholarship yet his passion lies with mastering the traditional art of puppetry instead. What would his decision be? To go with his heart's desire or that of his family's?

The Lao Jiu musical was first staged in 2005 and will now be brought to life again by The Theatre Practice with a new creative team as well as performers. The exciting updated cast includes veterans such as Lim Kay Siu and fresh blood Inch Chua, Sing Chew and Marcus Chin.

The musical will be performed daily, except Mondays, from 12 July to 29 July 2012 at the Drama Centre Theatre, National Library Building. Ticket prices range from SGD46 to SGD66.
