Pixar: 20 Years of Animation

With animation studio Pixar's talent for storytelling, almost every single one of its beautifully-crafted characters are well-ingrained in everyone's minds – child or adult. So, this weekend, don't miss your last chance to get an exclusive behind-the-screen peek of your favourite character, be it Woody, Buzz (of Toy Story 3 screening right now), Nemo or Wall-E at the 'Pixar: 20 Years of Animation' exhibition.

'Pixar: 20 Years of Animation' makes its Southeast Asian debut in Singapore's Science Centre from 1 April to 27 June 2010. All ten Pixar feature films, including Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Ratatouille, will be screened at the exhibition. But more importantly, visitors will be taken behind the screen to see for themselves the birth of each character as well as how their worlds were magically created. From the beginning with hand-drawn doodles through to the final polish with digital technology, there are more than 500 paintings, concept art, sketches, sculptures and digital installations that are on display at the exhibition.

Also, for fresh graduates interested in a career of animation, the Science Centre will be offering educational programmes in the art of animation technology.

Tickets are at $24 apiece for adults and $19 for children aged 3-16. Inclusive of admission to the Science Centre and a 3D movie, we say it's definitely worth making your way down to the west where our far-flung Science Centre is located.
